The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate volleyball team played a tight game against the Calallen Lady Wildcats but came up short in sets three and four, losing in four sets Friday, Aug. 14 at home.
The Lady Pirates are even through the first two games of the season at 1-1.
After dropping set one 25-22, RFHS battled for set two, winning 27-25. However, Calallen edged RFHS in the next two sets, taking set three 25-20 and set four 25-21.
Offensively, Messiah Hernandez led RFHS in assists with 21. Mikayla Molina followed Hernandez with eight assists.
Kaylee Howell led RFHS in kills with 10. Faith Ngo followed Howell with seven.
Ngo and Lauren Moore also accounted for four service aces each.
Defensively, Howell led RFHS with five blocks. Ngo and Lilith Solis followed Howell with two each.
Payton Martinez led RFHS in digs with eight. Kelsey Polasek followed Martinez with six.
RFHS played Calallen again Tuesday, Aug. 18. Their next game is 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21 at London.
