PGA Junior League is a game-changing way for kids to learn and play golf. The program brings friends and family together around fun, team golf experiences with coaching and instruction from PGA and Ladies PGA Professionals.

“We’re looking forward to introducing members of our community to golf through PGA Jr. League,” said PGA Life Member (Ret.)/Rockport-Fulton High School Golf Coach Jerry McDermott. “Golf is a game that can be enjoyed for a lifetime, and PGA Jr. League is the ideal program for all kids, from those who’ve never picked up a club to experienced junior golfers.”

Boys and girls of all backgrounds and playing abilities compete in a two-person scramble format that encourages mentorship, builds confidence, and promotes sportsmanship. Last year, over 50,000 kids participated on 4,200 teams nationwide.

The cost to play in the junior league is $150. However, the $150 fee may be circumstantially waived. If one is interested in playing but cannot pay the $150 fee, it is encouraged to contact Coach McDermott to see if ones fee can be waived.

Each player will receive two jerseys (one orange and one blue), bag tag, stickers, hat, performance t-shirt, and a drawstring bag.

The season will begin Thursday, May 9 and run through June 22.

Practices will be held from 3:15-4:15 p.m. Matches will be held on Saturdays in June. The season will consist of four matches. Players will also be given a pizza party at the end of the season.
