After nearly two weeks since their last game against Miller Thursday, April 1, the Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate softball team (#1) showed no signs of rust in a 20-0 run-rule four-inning victory over the West Oso Lady Bears Tuesday, April 13 in Oso.
RFHS extends their undefeated district record to 9-0, with an overall record of 20-1.
The Lady Pirates are currently two games ahead of second place Sinton in District 26-4A standings. Calhoun and Ingleside are third and fourth, respectively, with three losses each.
Against West Oso, RFHS jumped out to a big 9-0 lead over the Lady Bears in the first inning.
Starting pitcher Siarah Galvan pitched the first two innings and was relieved by Kymberlyn Gerloff. Gerloff was relieved by Jordan Hall to start the fourth inning. Combined, they threw a perfect game.
Maddie Mann led RFHS at the plate going 2-2 with five RBI’s, including a homerun over the left field wall in the second inning. She also scored three times.
Alana Garcia was 1-3 with three RBI’s.
Payton Martinez was 2-2 with two RBI’s and two scores.
Mikey Dominguez was 1-1 with one RBI and three scores.
As of Tuesday, April 13, RFHS retained their #1 state ranking in 4A Texas softball, according to Texas Girls Coaches Association.
RFHS played Beeville Friday, April 16 and their alumni game Saturday, April 17. Their next game is 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 20 at Ingleside.
