The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Pirate basketball team defeated the Carroll Tigers 72-64 Friday, Dec. 10 at home.

The Pirates are now 4-10 overall.

The Pirates played Carroll tight through the first half but exploded for 23 points in the third quarter to pull away from the Tigers.

Carroll attempted a comeback but late foul trouble kept the Tigers at bay. RFHS went 10-13 in free throws in the fourth quarter to maintain its lead.

Roman Cox led RFHS in scoring with 19 points.

Carter Engel followed with 16. Mathew Vasquez scored 14.

The Pirates played London Tuesday, Dec. 14 and will play at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17 at Calallen.
