The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate volleyball team played a full five sets against the Industrial Lady Cobras and came away with the victory in a 15-11 set five win Tuesday, Aug. 24 at home.

RFHS is currently 11-3 overall.

After RFHS took the first two sets, Industrial climbed back into the game, winning the next two sets to force the deciding fifth set.

RFHS took sets one and two, 25-21 and 25-22.

Industrial then took sets three and four, 25-23 and 25-20.

RFHS then took set five 15-11 for a hard fought victory against a tough 3A opponent.

Defensively, Payton Martinez delivered a stout performance in the back end, turning in 47 digs.

Lauren Moore led RFHS in blocks with four.

Offensively, Moore and Kaylie Skinner led RFHS in kills with 14 each.

Skinner also led RFHS in aces with four.

Sophia Byrom led RFHS in assists with 23. Mikayla Molina followed with 19 assists.

RFHS will participate in a tournament in Goliad over the weekend. Their next game is 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31 at Calallen.
