The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Pirate baseball team struggled to bring in a run against the Sinton Pirates and lost in the 5th inning by run rule 10-0 Tuesday, March 19 in Sinton.
RFHS is now 1-3 in district and 10-7 overall.
Garrett Loudermilk was the starting pitcher for RFHS and pitched three innings, allowing seven earned runs. Konnor McMahon relieved him in the third inning.
The Pirates struggled through five innings to get on base, managing only three hits off Sinton’s starting pitcher to Sinton’s 10 hits offensively.
In the top of fifth inning with bases loaded, in what would end up being RFHS’ last chance to bring in a run, A. Muirhead connected on a pitch but was unfortunately thrown out at first.
In the bottom fifth, with Sinton leading 8-0, Sinton brought in the two runs needed in order to run rule RFHS 10-0.
Tanor Waggoner led RFHS offensively with one hit and one walk.
Luke Muirhead and Clay Williams had one hit each.
RFHS played Beeville Friday, March 22. Their next game is 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 at Kingsville.
