The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate varsity cross-country team finished seventh place overall at the Region IV Cross Country Championship Monday, Oct. 28 at the Jack A. Dugan Family Soccer and Track Stadium in Corpus Christi.

RFHS finished three places shy of qualifying as a team to the state meet. Johnson High School secured the final spot of the top four teams advancing to state, followed by Pleasanton, La Feria, and RFHS.

In the two-mile course, Maddie Myers was the top runner for RFHS, finishing 23rd place with a time of 12:50.

Riley Parker finished 26th with a time of 12:53.

Marian Almada came in 73rd with a time of 13:35.

Belle Eaton finished 82nd place in a time of 13:49.

Emilee Sturgeon trailed behind in 83rd with a time of 13:50.

Annette Almada finished 112th with a time of 14:12.

Kaylee Howell finished 180th with a time of 17:52.

With the exception of Eaton, the lone senior, the entire Lady Pirate cross-country team will return next season.
