The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate volleyball team played an intense game versus the Flour Bluff (FB) Lady Hornets but lost in three sets, 26-24, 25-22, and 25-14, Tuesday, Aug. 27 at home.

Through the first two sets, RFHS hung tough with Bluff with excellent defensive play.

Set one was lost by a slim margin after RFHS surrendered a close lead and FB stole the set away 26-24.

Set two was also close with RFHS playing excellent defense. However, the Lady Pirates came up just short offensively and fell behind late in the set 25-22.

In set three, FB took a big lead early and didn’t look back up two sets to take set three 25-14.

Allie Manson and Kaylee Howell led RFHS in kills with eight each.

Howell led RFHS in blocks with three. Manson and Jackie Simmonds followed Howell with two.

Mikayla Molina accounted for 13 assists. Molly Frost followed Molina with nine.

Emily Resendez led RFHS in digs with 15.

RFHS played Aransas Pass Friday, August 30. Their next game is 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3 at Incarnate Word Academy.
