The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate varsity cross-country team was named District 31-4A champions for the second straight year following the District 31-4A Cross Country meet Thursday, Oct. 17 in Ingleside.

The Lady Pirates came away with a landslide victory over the rest of the district competition with a team score of 33 points. Ingleside came in second place with a team score of 90 (lowest score wins).

In the two-mile course, Riley Parker finished second with a time of 12:41.

Marian Almada finished fourth with a time of 12:53.

Maddie Myers finished sixth with a time of 13:03.

Emilee Sturgeon finished 10th with a time of 13:19.

Belle Eaton finished 11th with a time of 13:26.

Annette Almada finished 13th with a time of 13:32.

Kaylee Howell rounded out the scoring for RFHS, finishing 21st with a time of 14:09.

The RFHS varsity boys did not field a team.

The RFHS junior varsity girls team also finished in first place.

The RFHS junior varsity boys placed third.

The RFHS varsity girls team will run in the Region IV Cross Country Championships at 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 at the Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi Dugan Track and Soccer Stadium, 700 E. Nile Dr.
