The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate basketball team played its last non-district game of the season in a victory over the Tuloso-Midway (T-M) Lady Cherokee’s 47-42 Tuesday, Dec. 22 at home.

The victory extended RFHS’ winning streak to nine games in a row.

RFHS’ current overall record improves to 12-4, including a 2-0 district record.

In District 26-4A standings, RFHS was last tied with Beeville for first place. However, results of Beeville’s last district game against Calhoun Tuesday, Dec. 22 were not known at press deadline.

In RFHS’ game against T-M, the Lady Pirates jumped out to a 35-18 lead at the half behind 20 first half points by Kaylee Howell.

TM led a tough rally in the second half, but RFHS ultimately held on.

Howell led RFHS in scoring with 28 points.

Lilith Solis followed with six points. Messiah Hernandez scored five points.

RFHS will enjoy a much needed Christmas break and look to continue its remarkable run at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31 at home against West Oso.
