The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate softball team shutout the Beeville Lady Trojans for a second time this season in an 8-0 win Thursday, April 14 at Beeville.

RFHS is now 10-0 in district play and 24-4 overall.

RFHS is riding a 15-game win streak and has clinched a spot in the playoffs, but has not secured a district championship just yet.

Sinton is one game behind RFHS with a 9-1 District 26-4A record. The two teams will play again this Friday to decide a district champion.

Against Beeville, pitcher Maddie Mauricio came within one hit of throwing a no-hitter while her offense racked up 12 hits and scored eight runs.

Mauricio pitched all seven innings. She struck out 12 batters and allowed one hit.

Kalia Flaherty was 3-4 with four RBI and scored once.

Piper Shearer was 1-2 with one RBI and one walk.

Krystal Kutach was 3-4.

Kelsey Polasek was 1-2 with one RBI.

RFHS will play at Sinton at 7 p.m. Friday, April 22 in the last district game of the season before the playoffs.
