Trenton Tiner from Pearland, TX is not your average 13-year-old. An avid golfer, swimmer, and pilot – he decided he wanted to try his hand at saltwater fishing, and came to Rockport to spend some time with his family Leslie and Lloyd DeLaRosa. Experienced in freshwater, he stopped off at a store and picked up a couple of rods and reels, some lures and tackle … and night crawlers. Then the rain started.
Around 1:30 p.m. on the weekend, there appeared to be a small break in the downpour, and preparations to head out to their private pier on Copano began. Not wanting to drive back into town, they decided to use the bait and lures on hand and improvise for their wet weather gear: Contractor trash bags make excellent rain ponchos! Trenton stated, “I came down to fish, and by gosh we’re going fishing!” And so they did.
