The first belt sander race since Hurricane Harvey destroyed the track in 2017 was held Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Legends International Raceway at Legends Saloon.

A huge crowd was present to welcome the racers back. After a small remembrance of members passed and a dedication of the track, the races began.

In the stock class, John Bunton finished first, racing Twisted Tea. Roger Cardinal racing Jolly Roger finished second, and Joy Leschinski racing with Miz Guided placed third.

In the modified class, John Bunton placed first with Plum Crazy, Les Cole placed second with Intimidator, and Joy Leschinski placed third racing Raw Rat.

Next race will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Legends Saloon, 3720 N. Highway 35.
