The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate basketball team recently competed in the Roy Williams Holiday Classic, going 2-2 overall in the tourney, from Friday, Dec. 27 to Saturday, Dec. 28 at West Oso.

RFHS now holds a 10-10 overall record with a 1-1 district record.

On day one of the tourney, the Lady Pirates played in Pool C against Flour Bluff and Santa Gertrudis Academy (SGA).

RFHS opened against Flour Bluff (FB) and lost 58-38. FB was the eventual tournament winner, defeating West Oso 43-29 in the championship game.

In game two against SGA, RFHS went on a rally in the fourth quarter and eventually took the lead. However, SGA continued to battle and RFHS couldn’t get the game to swing in their favor, losing by one point 48-47.

On day two, RFHS went 2-0.

After defeating Gregory-Portland 47-34, the Lady Pirates finished the tourney with another win over a 5A school, defeating Moody 64-59.

RFHS will resume its district schedule at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3 at home against Ingleside.
