The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate volleyball team defeated the West Oso Lady Bears in three sets Tuesday, Sept. 21 at home.

The Lady Pirates improve their district record to 3-0 and overall record to 19-6.

RFHS defeated West Oso in three sets, 25-18, 25-9, and 25-14.

After playing a close first set with West Oso, RFHS put their foot on the gas offensively and handily defeated the Lady Bears the rest of the way.

Getting a lot of looks offensively, five Lady Pirates finished the game with at least five kills.

Leading the charge offensively was Kaylee Howell. She led RFHS in kills with 15.

Messiah Hernandez followed with nine kills, and Kaylie Skinner and Lauren Moore followed with six kills each.

Mikayla Molina led RFHS in assists with 21. Sophia Byrom followed with 16.

Moore led RFHS in aces with four. Molina followed with three.

Payton Martinez led RFHS in digs with 25. Byrom followed with 14.

Howell accounted for RFHS’ only block of the night.

RFHS played Beeville Friday, Sept. 24. Their next game is 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28 at home versus Miller.
