Jordan Gibson receives a throw back to second base from Ace Seibert for a tag on an incoming base runner.

The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Pirate baseball team lost their final district game to the Sinton Pirates 6-0 Tuesday, April 26 at Sinton.

RFHS finishes the district season 10-2 with an 18-8 overall record.

The loss puts RFHS as the second seed coming out of District 26-4A into the postseason. Sinton placed first with a 12-0 record.

RFHS Head Coach Tudi Elizondo said he thought the pitching was good enough, but it was tough to get a runner on versus Sinton.

“I thought Luke pitched really well,” said Elizondo. “It’s hard trying to produce runs when their pitching is really good as well. We just couldn’t get anything going.”

Luke Muirhead started and pitched five innings before being relieved by Trent Upham.

Muirhead allowed three earned runs and had seven strikeouts. He was also 1-3 at bat.

RFHS will play West Columbia in the first round of the postseason next week. A time, date, and location had not been determined at time of press deadline.

RFHS played their last game of the regular season versus Santa Gertrudis Academy Saturday, April 30.
