Kyler Skinner swings on a powerful serve.

The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Pirate tennis team defeated the Port Isabel Tarpons 10-8 in the Bi-District round of its playoff team tennis tournament Tuesday, Oct. 15 in Bishop.

The tournament started off with doubles play, in which five teams came away victorious.

Winning in boys doubles were Kyler Skinner/Matt Cate, Cameron Simpson/Jaby Tarkington, and Hunter Bracht/Sam Holden.

Winning in girls doubles was Jennifer Billy and Emma Jungman.

Winning in mixed doubles was Lucas Rice and Anne Stevens.

Boys singles match winners were Skinner, Simpson, Rice, Bracht, and Holden.

The team advanced to play in the area round against La Vernia Friday, Oct. 18 in Victoria.
