The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Pirate and Lady Pirate track teams competed in the Toast of the Coast meet Thursday, March 4 and Friday, March 5 at home.

The RFHS varsity Lady Pirates placed first overall with 162 points. In second place, Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial placed second with 126 points.

The RFHS varsity Pirates placed second overall with 127 points. Gregory-Portland placed first with 181 points.

The RFHS junior varsity girl’s team placed second overall. The RFHS junior varsity boy’s team placed fourth overall.

Varsity Lady Pirates placing in the top three in their respective events are as follows:

Emilee Sturgeon placed second in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:52.

The RFHS 400 meter relay team placed third with a time of 53.49.

Maddie Myers placed second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:30. She also placed third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 64.58.

Kaylee Howell placed first in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 49.79. She also placed first in high jump with a height of 5’1” and second place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.43.

The RFHS 800 meter relay team placed third with a time of 1:52.

Emma Groseclose placed second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 62.68.

Cailey Ramaker placed second in the 200 meter run with a time of 26.76. She also placed third in long jump with a leap of 15’10” and placed third in triple jump with a leap of 33’8.5”.

Piper Shearer placed second in discus with a throw of 100’5.5”.

Faith Ngo placed second in long jump with a leap of 15’10.5”.

Mikey Dominguez placed first in pole vault with a height of 11’6”.

The RFHS 1600 meter relay team placed third with a time of 4:25.98.

Varsity Pirates placing in the top three in their respective events are as follows:

The RFHS 400 meter relay team placed second with a time of 44.38.

George Marable placed first in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.62. He also placed first in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 40.59.

The RFHS 800 meter relay team placed second with a time of 1:33.14

Augustus Byrom placed third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.63.

Rickey Franks placed second in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 42.91.

Payton McAlister placed second in discus with a throw of 143’10.5”.

Josh Lee placed first in triple jump with a leap of 42’8.5”.

The RFHS 1600 meter relay team placed first with a time of 3:31.06.

Both teams’ next meet will be Thursday, March 25 in Cuero.
