The Leadership Aransas County (LAC) Alumni Association is hosting its 3rd annual LAC Attack Kayak Fishing Tournament Saturday, June 1.

It is a C.P.R. (Catch, photo, release) tournament.

Amateurs and experienced “Yak Fishermen” are all welcome to participate. Come alone or sign up the entire family and make a day of it.

A captains’ meeting is set for 6 p.m. Friday, May 31 at Poor Man’s Country Club. The meeting is a great way to meet one’s fellow anglers, learn about last minute rule changes, and receive door prizes.

Weigh-in begins (photo required) starting at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1, and ends at 3:30 p.m. at Paradise Key Dockside Bar & Grill.

The awards ceremony will follow immediately after the weigh-in.

The tournament officially ends at 5 p.m.

This annual LAC Alumni Association event benefits the Youth Leadership Aransas County (YLAC) Program. YLAC is open to sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students from Aransas County who are interested in becoming future leaders in our community. A student can sign up for the YLAC program beginning in August.

If one is interested in participating in the tournament, call April Intorre at (361) 729-6445 or email executiveassistant@1rockport.org.
