The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate volleyball team defeated the Beeville Lady Trojans in three sets Tuesday, Oct. 6 at home. RFHS also hosted a Parents Night ceremony before the game.

RFHS’ district record improves to 6-2 with an overall record of 8-7.

In 26-4A District standings, RFHS sits tied for second place with Calhoun. Sinton remains in first place.

RFHS defeated Beeville 25-20, 25-17, and 27-25.

RFHS controlled the game through the first two sets, but a hungry Beeville team battled in the final rallies of set three.

With big offensive plays by Sydnee Wanzer, Kaylie Skinner, Kaylee Howell, and Alana Garcia in the sets’ final rallies, RFHS climbed back to avoid a fourth set.

Payton Martinez led RFHS defensively with 30 digs. Jessica Schibi followed with 13 digs.

Howell led RFHS in blocks with three. Garcia followed with two blocks.

Howell led RFHS offensively with 15 kills. Garcia followed with seven kills.

Messiah Hernandez led RFHS in assists with 16. Sophia Byrom followed with 12 assists.

Martinez also led RFHS in aces with two.

The Lady Pirates played Ingleside Friday, Oct. 9. Their next game is 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13 at Sinton.
