The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate volleyball team overwhelmed the Aransas Pass Lady Panthers offensively with a victory in three sets Friday, Aug. 30 at home.

RFHS’ overall record moves to 13-11.

In set one, both teams played a close game until the latter part of the set when RFHS pulled away, forcing numerous errors against AP to take set one 25-21.

In set two, the Lady Pirates remained in control throughout most of the set with an efficient offense that gave AP trouble. AP played better in the latter part of the set but ultimately could not catch the Lady Pirates as they took set two 25-20.

In set three, AP struggled to defend RFHS’ presence near the net. RFHS continued its play with a strong finish to take set three 25-13.

Kaylee Howell led RFHS in kills with 14. Allie Manson trailed Howell in kills with eight and Jackie Simmonds finished with seven.

Faith Ngo and Mikayla Molina each finished with two aces.

Molly Frost led RFHS with 27 assists. Molina had 12 assists.

Howell, Manson, Frost, and Reese Crosland finished with a block each.

Emily Resendez, Hannah Saegert, and Molina led RFHS with six digs each.

RFHS played Incarnate Word Academy Tuesday, Sept. 3.
