Due to the popular response of its July 4 evening swim, the Community Aquatic and Skate Park will host two more similar events.

The first is a “Summer Night Swim” from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, July 25,

The second is a “Back to School Splash” from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9.

The pool will be open normal hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each of those days, and will re-open for the special events.

Visitors can enjoy swimming, evening tropical breezes and music. The concessions stand will have hot dogs, pizza, water, soft drinks and other items.

Admission is $4 for students and $5 for adults. The Aquatic Center will not offer free readmission to those who visited earlier in the day.

Nestled within a 12-acre live oak forest, the Community Aquatic and Skate Park is open year-round. It includes an eight-lane, heated, 25-yard pool and diving area, a whale shaped zero-depth entry children’s pool with slides and sprays, a bathhouse, and a 6,000-square-foot modular skate park. Adjacent to the park is a picnic area, playground, a ¼-mile nature trail, and access to the Tule Hike and Bike Trail.

The City of Rockport, Town of Fulton and Aransas County collectively fund the facility. It is managed by the City of Rockport.
