The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate basketball team jumped out to a big lead over the Calhoun Sandies and remained on top the rest of the way in a 51-36 victory Thursday, Jan. 21 at home.

The Lady Pirates extended their winning streak to 15 games and remain on top of District 26-4A with an 8-0 district record. Their overall record improves to 18-4.

After a big start to the game by Kaylee Howell, RFHS took a 15-3 lead to end the first quarter. Howell scored nine of RFHS’ 15 points.

In the second half, RFHS remained on top with an explosive performance by Jordan Malone. Malone hit four 3-point field goals and scored 18 points alone to ice the Sandies.

Malone led RFHS in scoring with 25 points.

Howell followed with 17 points and Lilith Solis scored five points.

RFHS will play their next game at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 at home against West Oso.
