The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Pirate soccer team won the consolation championship trophy after going 2-1 in a recent tournament in Beeville from Friday, Jan. 3 to Saturday, Jan. 4.

Goalkeeper Michael Gonzalez, defender Edgar Deleon, and midfielder Joel Gonzalez were selected as All-Tournament players.

RFHS’ 2-1 record tied with two other teams for second place.

In day one, RFHS lost its opening game to Gregory-Portland 5-0. The loss put the Pirates in the consolation bracket for the remainder of the tourney.

In day two, RFHS defeated London 2-0 and put them in the consolation championship. The Pirates then defeated Santa Gertrudis Academy in the championship game 4-2.

RFHS’ next game is 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at Calallen.
