The Rockport-Fulton High School (RFHS) Lady Pirate volleyball team began the second half of district play with a three set victory over the Miller Lady Bucs Tuesday, Oct. 5 at Miller.
The Lady Pirates defeated Miller 25-17, 25-21, and 25-10.
RFHS’ district record improves to 7-0 with an overall record of 23-6.
RFHS is currently riding its longest winning streak of the season at 10 games in a row with five district games left in the season.
In district 26-4A standings, RFHS sits in first place, followed by Calhoun with a 5-1 record, and Sinton with a 5-2 record.
Miller gave the Lady Pirates some trouble in the first two sets, but pulled away in the latter part of the sets to establish a 2-0 lead. RFHS then ran away with it in set three to seal it.
Kaylee Howell led RFHS offensively with 14 kills. Kiley Kopp followed with 10 kills.
Mikayla Molina led RFHS in assists with 17. Sophia Byrom followed with 11.
Lauren Moore led RFHS in aces with five. Payton Martinez followed with two.
Payton Martinez led RFHS defensively with 29 digs. Jessica Schibi followed with 13 digs.
Kopp led RFHS in blocks with three. Howell followed with two.
RFHS will get a week break before a big district matchup at second place Calhoun.
RFHS will play at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12 in Calhoun.
