The Rockport Center for the Arts (RCA) will host the exhibit, Illuminated Reflections, by Angalee DeForest, beginning Saturday, June 15 at Estelle Stair Gallery, 406 S. Austin St. The exhibit will run until Saturday, July 27 and will be free and open to the public.

It will be DeForest’ second solo exhibit at the RCA.

Last year, DeForest was selected as the 50th annual Rockport Art Festival Poster Artist. In conjunction with the prestigious honor of creating the official image for the long-standing event, DeForest will have a solo exhibit of over 25 original works.

“Illuminated Reflections is a tribute to life on the Texas coast,” said RCA Curator of Exhibitions Elena Rodriguez. “DeForest’s limited color palette and painterly marks are the work of someone who truly loves Rockport, and her art is a great homage to the region.”

DeForest pursued her love for art through studies of fine art at the University of Texas, and independently with nationally known artists throughout the United States.

A gallery talk, reception and poster signing will take place at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22. DeForest’s poster will be revealed on this night and will be the official image of the 50th annual Rockport Art Festival.
