Rockport-Fulton High School senior Cheer Captain Lorraine Soto marched in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Day Parade Tuesday, Dec. 7 in its 80th anniversary in Honolulu, HI.

Soto was selected to cheer in the event for being in the top 10% academically amongst all cheerleaders nationwide.

In addition to cheering in the parade, Soto also performed in front of surviving Pearl Harbor veterans at Fort DeRussy Park in Honolulu.

Her great-grandfather, Robert Danner, fought in World War II and marched in the 50th anniversary parade of Pearl Harbor in England.

“To have Lorraine march in this 80th anniversary, visit the USS Arizona and the USS Missouri, had a powerful meaning,” said Nichole Soto, L. Soto’s mother.
