Students a part of the younger birding teams at Fulton Learning Center took a practice field trip to Port Aransas Saturday, Feb. 1.

They then ventured to Paradise Pond and the Wetlands Center where students identified a Marsh Wren, Mottled Ducks, and a Gray Catbird.

Students found and identified a total of 51 species of birds.

Students on the trip included Brayden Tran, Ryan Brewington, Kinslee Burton, Cason Cruzan, Cruz Dominguez, Arwen Griffith, Conner Hale, Jacinta Pham, Faith Stiles, Rylie Waggoner, Logann Wood, Blaine Chapman, and Everett Gambill. Students were accompanied by Aransas Bird and Nature Club mentors Bron Rorex Carrier and Skip Carrier. School sponsor Martha McLeod also attended.
