Rockport-Fulton Middle School (RFMS) has recently begun collecting gently used or new shoes for a school wide fundraiser. The fundraiser began Monday, Oct. 19 and will run until Jan. 19, 2021.

Their goal is to collect 7,500 pairs of shoes.

Any type of shoe will be accepted, as long as they are new or gently worn (free from holes, soles still attached, completely dry, and free from mold or mildew).

All sizes of tennis shoes, Crocs, flip flops, wedges, heels, boots, etc., will be accepted. The fundraiser will benefit impoverished countries around the world, the environment, and the school.

Funds2Orgs Group will purchase the shoes collected. The group ships to many micro-enterprise partners around the world, where they are sold to small business owners for a low price. The micro-entrepreneurs create a path out of poverty in countries where there are limited job opportunities that pay a livable wage.
