Antoinette L. Castillo of Rockport was recently selected the 2019 Miss Texas Jazz Festival Queen.
She represents the 59th annual Texas Jazz Festival to be held Friday, Oct. 18 through Oct. 20 at Heritage Park in Corpus Christi.
Castillo was also awarded for Best Overall Presentation at the Mr. and Miss Texas Jazz Festival Scholarship Contest held at the Holiday Inn Marina in Corpus Christi on August 3.
Ryan Narvaez of Corpus Christi was selected as King alongside Castillo to represent the Texas Jazz Festival.
As Queen, Castillo’s format is to encourage youth educational opportunities, confidence, and diversity.
Castillo appeared on Domingo Live on Sept. 22 to promote the upcoming event. She also appeared with the Feria de las Flores Queen’s Court at a National Night Out event Tuesday, Oct. 1.
Castillo is a 2018 graduate of Rockport-Fulton High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, Varsity Choir, Emeralds Dance team, Spanish Club, and Student Council.
She is currently a Music Industry Major at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She also serves as a volunteer on the Rockport-Fulton Seafair planning committee.
She will be featured during this years Seafair parade Saturday, October 12 in downtown Rockport.
