Helping out

The Children’s Coalition of Aransas County (CCAC) hosted a Un-Sale at its W. Market Street office Nov. 20. The 75 families that attended the free event were provided children’s clothing, shoes, toys, and household items, all courtesy of families in the community that made donations in previous months. The children at Fulton Learning Center (FLC) donated approximately one ton of food (canned meats, vegetables, fruits, pasta, soup and more) that was distributed. The Aransas County Women’s Lions Club donated 64 turkey breasts and turkey breast rolls to help with the families’ Thanksgiving dinners. CCAC representatives said they appreciate the support of the community, FLC, and Women’s Lions Club in its efforts to make Aransas County and surrounding areas a place where every child will have a safe, healthy and happy childhood. For more information about the CCAC, visit its website at, stop by the office (401 W. Market St.) or call (361) 255-3000.
