Postcard tree

Decorations for the trees in the “Holiday Fare” display at the History Center for Aransas County (801 E. Cedar St.) are uniquely historic. They are antique postcards from the collection of Friends of the History Center board member Mel Konarik.

Three themed trees illustrate Texas trails, fishing, and trains, planes and boats.

Everyone is challenged to find his or her favorite theme among the decorations.

The History Center is open Friday (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), Saturday and Sunday (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.), and Monday (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
