The Rockport Area Association of Realtors (RAAR) held its own Day of Giving Tuesday, Nov. 17 and donated a total of $10,000 to 10 different local organizations.

Each organization received a $1,000 donation.

The RAAR has more than 250 members and many of them give their time and efforts volunteering at many non-profit organizations in the community.

With COVID-19 making it difficult for non-profits to financially meet their needs and having to cancel fundraising events, the RAAR decided to help some of those organizations with monetary donations.

Local organizations that received $1,000 donations are the Odyssey After School Program, Camp Aranzazu, Communities in School Coastal Bend, Aransas County Council for the Aging, Aransas County Independent School District Education Foundation, Aransas County Children’s Foundation, Boys & Girls Club of Aransas County, Access Counseling, Rockport Little Theater and the Rockport Cultural Arts District.

Of those 10, four of them received matching donations of $1,000 matched by last week’s Coastal Bend Day of Giving. Those four were Odyssey after School Program, Camp Aranzazu, Communities in School Coastal Bend and Aransas County Council for the Aging

“These well deserving organizations are all helping to make our community a better place to live and work,” said RE/MAX Security Real Estate agent Keith Hamilton.
