To the editor,

I was shocked at the behavior of three of the senators at the judicial committee’s hearing on Judge Jackson’s nomination. Actually, I wasn’t all that surprised by the Trump sycophants Cruz and Graham. They have long been taking instructions from the Donald’s Handbook on Annihilation of the Opposition.

Instead of questioning Judge Jackson in a polite, civil manner, they chose to badger, berate, and bully her. To the point where senator Durbin had to call them down several times. When Cruz yelled at him, “Don’t you want her to answer?”

He responded by telling him, “You won’t let her.”

I was proud of her for maintaining a calm demeanor in the face of such an egregious attack on her judicial qualifications.

I was, however, taken aback by senator Cronyn’s tone as he questioned her. In all his time in the Senate I have never known him to take such an abrasive attitude when questioning a nominee.

Does a 6-3 majority on the Court worry the Republicans so much? If they were in the driver’s seat would their choice be a liberal or conservative nominee? Obviously that was a rhetorical question.
