This page features two guest columns this week, along with a number of letters to the editor, so I’m going to be brief.
First off, congrats Aransas County voters for the great turnout at the polls five days into early voting. Through Monday, a full one-third of Aransas County’s registered voters exercised their precious right to vote.
I was driving by the Aransas County Elections Office Monday at about 4:30 p.m. and there was no line, so I stopped and took advantage of the situation.
If one shows up to vote at that location, and the line is too long, I suggest, actually, Interim Aransas County Elections Administrator Kevin Stroud suggests, trying the alternate early voting location – the Fulton Volunteer Fire Department.
I use the remainder of the space I’m allotting myself this week to the promotion of a book by Rockport resident and author W.R. “Bill” Strong.
Freedom or Dependency (Your Choice) is available on Amazon for $5.19 (online version) or $9.98 (paperback).
Strong told me, “It is a book everyone should read if they have or will make a choice about who will run our country.
“It is a book everyone should read if they want to know why we are having all the protests and problems today, and how they are going to affect you. It is based on more than 80 years of experiences. It will tell you things the politicians and media won’t, but I will. It is short and to the point.”
He added this little bonus, as well.
“The printed copy comes with a guarantee that if you don’t think it worth your $9.98, Dr. Strong will refund your payment. You have nothing to lose but a hell of lot to gain.”
I should have my copy delivered to me by the time you read this, and I think I’ll end this column with Dr. Strong’s words, “Short and to the point.”
Until next week, have a good week, and exercise your right to vote.
