Dear editor:

We have been coming to Rockport-Fulton for the last eight years or so and have enjoyed the area and the people immensely. We have been delighted with the area and the happy, colorful houses that have greeted us each winter. We’re just completing this year’s say, impressed with the efforts of rebuilding and recovery after Harvey. You truly are “Rockport-Fulton Strong.”

As we’re walking and driving through neighborhoods, especially Key Allegro, we’ve noticed a trend. The color of homes that has sparked a joyful, lighthearted response in the past is slowly succumbing to the wide variety of whites, tans, taupes, and greys of boring suburbia. I write with the possibility this trend has not been noticed by your residents and that making mention of it might make a difference in some future choices by the home and shop owners. As we leave, we already anticipate our return. Thank you for your hospitality.

Thanks Rockport-Fulton from a North Dakota Winter Texan.
