Dear editor:

My Gary and I celebrated our anniversary on 9-19.

After lunch we treated ourselves with a stop at the History Center for Aransas County for a tour of their newest exhibit: Key Allegro: A Vision Of Growth. As we had resided on Key Allegro for 13 years ourselves, we found the exhibit most interesting and indeed a “labor of love” by many.

Please do consider stopping by to relish this major chapter in the history of our community.

Additionally, we also purchased the Foodways book by editors Vickie Moon Merchant and Kay Betz available at the Center. What a delightful and informative accounting of our colorful history! Lots of photos, recipes, and many shared “memory lane moments,” local traditions and much more!

“Thanks” to all who took part in this joint effort to make it available for us all to enjoy!

Rockport Strong!

Rita Gilbert
