It’s with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of Felipe Angel Ayala Sr., a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and friend. He left us to be with our Lord on July 13, 2020 at 1:19 a.m. after a short battle with COVID-19.

Felipe was born on January 8, 1944 in Rockport, Texas to Anacleto Ayala and Senaida Flores. He’s preceded in death by his parents, (father) Anacleto Ayala, (mother) Senaida Flores, his siblings; (brother) Eduardo Ayala, (sister) Hilda Ayala Villarreal, and granddaughter Brittany Renee Tristan.

He was a beloved father to one son. Felipe “Bear” Ayala Jr. (Cindy), and five daughters; Janie (Ricky) Garner, Lisa (Santos) Singleterry, Sylvia Ayala (Pete Moreno), Elsa (Mingo) Gonzalez, and Amy Ayala (Roy Gonzalez). His family was his pride and joy. He leaves behind his children along with three sisters, Tina (Tony) Buenaño, Aurora Aleman, and Alma Ayala Barraza, 19 grandchildren, and 36 great grandchildren to cherish his memories.

Felipe lived life to the fullest. He would love, more than anything, to scare people; many friends and family could attest to this. He was a shrimper for many years, until he found his calling as a helicopter mechanic with Air Logistics. Those who knew him knew he was a hard worker and an uplifter.

Felipe loved Tejano music, watching old Spanish movies, classic TV shows, and was an avid wrestling fan; he would not miss a single Monday Night RAW. But, more than anything, he loved his siblings, children, and all of his grandchildren.

Felipe Angel Ayala will be incredibly missed and will be forever in our hearts.
