Grier L Garrick III (Rick) went to be with his Heavenly Father June 13th. He was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina where he attended Jacksonville Junior and Senior High School. He participated in a variety of school sports. He also attended Coastal Carolina Community College. He was active in Trinity United Methodist Youth Fellowship, Jacksonville Onslow Youth and its Joy Choir. He was a member of the youth teams with several lay witness missions around the area. He also spent as much time as possible sailing with his father and surfing. Grier served in the US Navy aboard submarines as an electrician from 1977 until 1983. After the Navy he ended up in South Texas. He worked the majority of his life installing and repairing restaurant equipment all over the state. Grier resided n Rockport, Texas over 20 years. He was active for several years as a Scout Leader. He was also active in Ham Radios. Grier was a member of Church Unlimited in Rockport, TX and enjoyed leading the small group ministries with his wife until his health no longer allowed him to continue.

A few years ago he decided to rededicate himself to the Lord and was baptized again by Pastor David Bendett with Rock City Church, Corpus Christi. He was also a member of the Corpus Christi Sub Vets Group The Sea Turtles. Grier was a devoted Christian, and a loving, kind husband, father and grandfather.

Those who mourn him are his wife Saundra (Sandy), his daughter Rachel Garrick; two chosen sons Joseph Hintz (Kristin) and Marcus Myers (Marilee). He has four honorary grandchildren; Carissa, Josiah, Brylee Hintz and Wesley Myers. Grier is also survived by two sisters; Bettie Francis and Kathy Gross; nieces: Heather Wilshire (great nephew, Jameson) and Louise Gross.

He was predeceased by his father Grier Garrick, mother Martha Bishop Garrick and sister Susan Motes.

Grier was laid to rest June 22, 2020 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas
