August 8, 1935 – October 19, 2019
Surrounded by all four of her children, Cissy Garwood, age 84, of San Antonio, Texas, went to be with with our Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 19, 2019. Cissy was born on August 8, 1935 and was a long-time resident of San Antonio. She was always proud to say she was a part of the first graduating class from Alamo Heights High School. Cissy enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. In 2002, she moved to Rockport, Texas where she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed volunteering at the school, reading to the children. After seventeen years at the coast, Cissy relocated back to San Antonio due to Hurricane Harvey. Cissy was devoted to her family and her faith.
Cissy is preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Garwood, her father, Roy Harper Garwood, her brother, Roy Harper “Sonny” Garwood Jr. (JuJu), and her sister, Billy Lee “Chickie” Sellers (Bob).
She is survived by her sister, Love Yvonne “Tootie” Nance (Dwight), her son, Chuck Couch (Linda) of San Antonio, her daughters, Cheryl Saliba (Chip) of San Antonio, Kelly Couch Moore of San Antonio, and Mary Kay Farnsworth (Mark) of Rockport, Texas; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 22, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Porter Loring.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 10:00 am at Sunset Memorial Park. Deacon Joe Borego will officiate.
