Janet Pearl Albers Fake passed away on April 26th, 2022 at the age of 68.
She was born in Lamar, Colorado on February 23rd, 1954 to Butch and Alta (Scobee) Albers, growing up in Two Buttes, Colorado before moving to Rockport, Texas, where she developed a lifelong love of the beach. She
married David Fake in 1979; they raised their three children and many cats in Pearland, Texas.
Janet had a great love for music, including playing guitar, singing, and listening to a wide range of musical genres. She also enjoyed painting and gardening. Janet was the fearless leader of Girl Scout troops 405 and 136 for many years. She loved singing in the choir at the First United Methodist Church of Pearland and volunteering for many children’s programs. Janet was known for her friendliness, her smile, and for being a beloved “bonus mom” to her children’s friends and many of her co-workers.
Janet Fake was a proud employee of Pearland Independent School District for nearly 30 years, starting as a computer aide in an elementary school and moving to work in the Department of Technology. She loved her job and loved working with such a great group of people.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law, Wanda Fake.
She is survived by her husband, David Fake; children: Michael Fake, Melinda (John) Hodges, and Jennifer (Stephen) Haden; granddaughter, Claire Haden; brother, Stanley (Rhonda) Albers; father-in-law, Charles Fake, and many beloved family members.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21st at 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Pearland. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Pearland ISD Education Foundation (www.pearlandisd.org/foundation).
