In loving memory of Roy M. Snead, III

Roy M. Snead, III

Roy M. Snead, III, age 77, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 15, 2019. He passed after a lengthy illness in San Antonio, Texas.

Roy was born in Pennington Gap, Virginia on November 20, 1941. He attended Kentucky Military Institute for high school and furthered his education at the University of Miami. He trained as a pilot serving as a 777 Captain for Continental Airlines for 36 years. He often remarked that he never worked a day in his life as he felt serving as a pilot was a true blessing. With an extremely creative spirit, Roy further utilized his talents to build both custom homes and small airplanes, along with ranching and raising exotic animals.

Roy loved the Lord, and he revered telling everyone he met about Jesus. He was a member of New Beginnings Ministries in Rockport, Texas. Roy’s favorite scripture was 2 Corinthians 5:8: “We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.”

Roy is survived by his wife of 46 years Nancy Snead; their daughter Lisa Fredrickson and son-in-law Michael; their son Justin Snead and daughter-in-law Samantha; and his special daughter Peggy Whittington. He was blessed with precious grandchildren Kathryn Kluge and fiancé Becca Luker; Carter and Jack Fredrickson and Alexandra, Victoria, Barrett and Helena Snead.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 21, 2019 at the Heritage Place, located at 412 North Live Oak Street in Rockport, Texas from 3 to 5 pm.
