Elva Contreras Graveline, 52, a former resident of Fulton, Tx. died Tuesday, May 19th at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a nurse’s aide in New London, Ct for over 20 years. She was the first casualty to die in the facility due to the Covid-19 virus.

She was born November 12, 1967 in Beeville, Tx. She was a daughter of the late Antonio and Dora Perez Contreras.

Survivors include her loving husband, Michael Graveline and two daughters: Shelly Jones Crews (James) and Felicia Graveline, all of Ct. Four brothers: Victor Contreras, Michael Contreras (Martha), Rene Contreras (Hope) all of Fulton; Lupe Contreras (Amanda) of Grand Prairie, Tx; and one sister, Inasia Contreras James of Fulton. Three grandchildren Aria, Lana, and Isla Crews of Ct.

Those that knew her, can attest to her quick wit, generous heart, and loving nature. She was a joy to be around because her smile always brightened the room. She loved her family dearly; Mike and the girls were the world to her.

Services will not be held at this time. A rally will be held in New London on May 30 by the local healthcare unions to address the safety of employees. The family wants to thank each and every person who have sent their condolences.

Elva will be greatly missed.
