The Rockport City Council, at its regular meeting Tuesday, Nov. 9, met for an hour and 15 minutes discussing legal issues with the City’s legal counsel related to the final terms of the separation agreement between the City and City Manager Kevin Carruth, as well as other matters related to that issue.

Upon returning to open session, the council approved, with identical 3-2 votes, authorizing Mayor Pat Rios to finalize the separation agreement, and to seek proposals related to interim city manager services, as well as conducting a search for a new city manager.

Council Members Katy Jackson, Brad Brundrett, and Andrea Hattman voted for each of the actions. Mayor Rios and Mayor Pro-tem JD. Villa cast the dissenting votes.

(Note: The Rockport City Council, after meeting for about 2-1/2 hours in executive session Tuesday, Nov 3, accepted Carruth’s resignation with a 4-1 vote. Rios cast the lone dissenting vote. Carruth’s resignation is effective Jan. 7, 2022.)

Where and when will the Rockport City Manager's position be posted and/or published so we have an idea of what the City considers to be qualifications?
