An Aransas County grand jury was convened recently, and issued 20 indictments against 19 individuals.

Those individuals, listed by name, charge, date of offense, and bond set, are as follows:

John Paul Prentice – Aggravated assault with deadly weapon, second degree felony; on or about March 24, 2020 intentionally, knowingly or recklessly threatened to cause bodily injury to complainant, pointing a gun at complainant. Count two, on or about March 24, 2020 intentionally, knowingly or recklessly threatened to cause bodily injury to (a second) complainant, pointing a gun at complainant. Count three, on or about March 24, 2020 intentionally, knowingly or recklessly threatened to cause bodily injury to (a third) complainant, pointing a gun at complainant; $5,000 surety.

Marvin Costlow – Driving while intoxicated 3rd or more, third degree felony; on or about Jan. 25, 2019 operated a motor vehicle in a public place while intoxicated. Convicted Nov. 14, 2005 of an offense related to the operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Convicted March 11, 1997 of an offense related to the operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated; $5,000 surety.

Kreg Anderson Blair – Driving while intoxicated 3rd or more, third degree felony; on or about June 6, 2019 operated a motor vehicle in a public place while intoxicated. Convicted Feb. 16, 2012 of an offense related to the operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Convicted Feb. 11, 2010 of an offense related to the operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated; $5,000 surety.

Kelly Roseann McGrath – Driving while intoxicated with child passenger, state jail felony; on or about Feb. 10, 2018 operated a motor vehicle in a public place while intoxicated and the vehicle was occupied by a passenger who was younger than 15; $3,000 surety.

Megan Marie Fitzgerald-Andrews – Driving while intoxicated with child passenger, state jail felony; on or about Nov. 2, 2018 operated a motor vehicle in a public place while intoxicated and the vehicle was occupied by a passenger who was younger than 15; $5,000 surety.

Remigio Espinoza – Attempt to take weapon from peace officer, state jail felony; on or about Sept. 13, 2019 intentionally and knowingly and with force attempted to take the firearm from an employee of the Aransas County Detention Center; $5,000 personal recognizance.

Darren Scott Blankenship - Possession of controlled substance Penalty Group 1, less than one gram, state jail felony; on or about Dec. 5, 2018 intentionally or knowingly possessed a controlled substance listed in Penalty Group 1, namely oxycodone hydrochloride, less than one gram; $5,000 surety.

Maria Granados - Possession of controlled substance Penalty Group 3, more than 28 grams, but less than 200 grams, third degree felony; on or about Oct. 17, 2018 intentionally or knowingly possessed a controlled substance listed in Penalty Group 3, namely alprazolam, more than 28 grams, but less than 200 grams; $5,000 surety.

Paul Coker - Possession of controlled substance Penalty Group 1, one gram or more, but less than four grams, third degree felony; on or about Aug. 9, 2019 intentionally or knowingly possessed a controlled substance listed in Penalty Group 1, namely methamphetamine, one gram or more, but less than four grams; $3,000 personal recognizance.

Jennifer Cheaney - Possession of controlled substance Penalty Group 1, one gram or more, but less than four grams, third degree felony; on or about Aug. 9, 2019 intentionally or knowingly possessed a controlled substance listed in Penalty Group 1, namely methamphetamine, one gram or more, but less than four grams; $5,000 surety.

Kathleen Marie Hansen - Possession of controlled substance Penalty Group 1, less than one gram, state jail felony; on or about Aug. 14, 2018 intentionally or knowingly possessed a controlled substance listed in Penalty Group 1, namely methamphetamine, less than one gram; $5,000 personal recognizance.

Isaiah Noel Pena – Possession of prohibited substance in a correctional facility, third degree felony; on or about April 20, 2019 intentionally and knowingly took a prohibited substance, namely a substance suspected to be marijuana, into the Aransas County Detention Center; $2,000 personal recognizance.

Isaiah Noel Pena – Unauthorized use of motor vehicle, state jail felony; on or about April 11, 2019 intentionally or knowingly operated a motor-propelled vehicle, namely an automobile, without the effective consent of the owner; $7,500 personal recognizance.

Karl Earl – Evading arrest with motor vehicle, third degree felony; on or about Jan. 15, 2019 while using a vehicle intentionally fled from a person the defendant knew was a peace officer who was attempting lawfully to arrest or detain the defendant; $15,000 surety.

Kenneth Banton – Evading arrest with motor vehicle, third degree felony; on or about July 13, 2019 while using a vehicle intentionally fled from a person the defendant knew was a peace officer who was attempting lawfully to arrest or detain the defendant; 3,000 surety.

Juan Arnoldo Ruiz II – Burglary of a habitation with intent to commit theft, second degree felony; on or about June 20, 2020 intentionally or knowingly entered a habitation without the effective consent of the owner and attempted to commit or committed the offense of theft of utilities; $25,000 surety.

Dale Ryan Weeks - Theft, state jail felony; on or about Sept. 20, 2019 unlawfully appropriated known stolen property by acquiring and otherwise exercising control over said property, to wit: a recreational vehicle, without the effective consent of the owner, of a value more than $2,500, but less than $30,000, with intent to deprive the owner of the property; $50,000 surety.

Rollins Leroy Lewis - Theft, state jail felony; on or about Sept. 20, 2019 unlawfully appropriated known stolen property by acquiring and otherwise exercising control over said property, to wit: a recreational vehicle, without the effective consent of the owner, of a value more than $2,500, but less than $30,000, with intent to deprive the owner of the property; $25,000 surety.

Steven Cole Hunt – Indecency with child sexual contact, third degree felony; on or about Nov. 29, 2017 with the intent to gratify the sexual desire of the defendant, caused complainant, a child younger than 17 years of age, to engage in sexual contact by touching the genitals or breast or anus of the complainant; $1,000 personal recognizance.

Waylon Dean Augustus Brown – Continuous sexual assault of a child, first degree felony; on or about a day between June through August 2016, during a period that was 30 or more days induration, when the defendant was 17 years of age or older, committed two or more acts of sexual abuse against complainant, a child younger than 14 years of age, namely: on or about a day between June through August 2016, the defendant did then and there knowingly and intentionally touched the sexual organ of the complainant with the defendant’s tongue; on or about a day between June through August 2014, the defendant did then and there knowingly and intentionally touched the sexual organ of the complainant with the defendant’s finger; on or about a day between June through August 2014, the defendant did then and there knowingly and intentionally touched the sexual organ of the complainant with the defendant’s finger; on or about a day between June through August 2014, the defendant did then and there knowingly and intentionally touched the sexual organ of the complainant with the defendant’s finger; $25,000 surety.
