Aransas County has decided to move forward with the Lamar Beach Road shoreline resiliency project, which is funded by a FEMA Hazard Mitigation grant.

The County received 51 emails and phone calls from Lamar residents after a public outreach meeting Sept. 11. Of the 51 comments, 35 were in favor of moving forward.

The County also held an outreach meeting Sept. 18 about the Shell Ridge Road hazard mitigation project, which will impact residents in that area.

The County is receiving property owner feedback from that area.

The County will submit its Phase 2 deliverables soon and should hear back from FEMA by early 2021.
