Thanks Larry for your service!

Rockport Police Chief Greg Stevens, at left, presents Commander Larry Sinclair with his new Police ID, noting he was honorably discharged, as well as his badge, noting he is now a retired peace officer. Sinclair has retired after 32 years of service to the residents of Rockport as a member of the Rockport Police Department (RPD). “You don’t see people give 30+ years with one company or employer very often,” said Stevens. “That’s a credit to him and the community.” The chief said the RPD will miss Sinclair’s experience, but noted the RPD has a succession plan in place. “We all wish Larry, Debbie, and his family the best,” said Stevens. Sinclair and his wife Debbie were all smiles during a reception in his honor at the Public Safety Center Wednesday, Dec. 29. An article that ran on the front page of The Rockport Pilot in 1989 outlines Sinclair’s work inside Rockport-Fulton High School. When he arrived to work at the RPD he could easily pass as a high school student, and thus worked undercover for a period of time at the campus.
