Aransas County Judge C. H. “Burt” Mills, Rockport Mayor Pat Rios, and Fulton Mayor Kelli Cole have signed an appeal for residents and visitors to wear masks as a way to combat the Coronavirus and slow its spread … and the Aransas County Women’s Lions Club (WLC) have stepped up to make it a little spicy and fun.
The WLC is implementing “Mask Up Aransas County”, a special community campaign that will last the next eight weeks. It is designed to entice residents and visitors to wear their mask.
For the next eight weeks, five people per week (randomly selected) will receive cash and prizes. Four people will receive a gift card from a local business. One lucky individual will be awarded $100 cash, on the spot, for wearing their mask at all times, except when in their vehicle.
“If you don’t wear a mask, you are not eligible to win,” said WLC President Leslie Klein.
Winners will have their pictures published in The Rockport Pilot and on Facebook pages.
