Despite its closure last year for six months due to COVID-19, Castaways recently approved $205,700 in grants to 22 local non-profit organizations in its 2021 grant recipients list.

Good Samaritans received $70,000.

The Aransas County Council on Aging received $30,000.

The Fulton Volunteer Fire Department and the Coastal Bend Troop Support received $20,000 each.

The Wings Rescue Center received $10,000.

Another Chance Rescue received $7,000.

The Humane Society of Aransas County, the June Project, Aransas County Medical Services, Children’s Coalition of Aransas County, Odyssey After School, ACCESS Counseling, and Habitat for Humanity received $5,000 each.

The Aransas County Women’s Lions Club received $3,000.

Communities in Schools, Rockport Little Theater, Cat Tales Rescue, and Friends of the History Center received $2,000 each.

The Rockport Lions Club – Toys for Kids program received $1,500.

Youth Leadership Aransas County and Rockport Center for the Arts received $500 each.

Piecemakers by the Bay received $200.
