Aransas County commissioners, at their regular meeting Monday, Jan. 10, approved Resolution #R-02-2022, selecting and awarding the bid for the Rockport Center for the Arts (RCA) Parking and Public Facilities Improvement Project to Marshall Company, Ltd. for $636,723.57. Three bids were received.

The project is funded entirely by a (Hurricane Harvey related) Disaster Recovery and Mitigation grant through the Texas General Land Office.

The parking lot will be located on the railroad depot property off Magnolia Street, one block away from the RCA’s new downtown campus.

The lighted parking lot will have 60 parking spaces.

(Note: At their May 10, 2021 meeting, commissioners approved the purchase of the .557-acre tract of land from David Beckham for $350,000. The same grant funding was used.)
